
Building on the amazing work of “First Timers” festival, Decolonise Fest is hosting a Intro to Guitar workshop focused on getting more Punx of Colour playing!
DIY guitar for beginners!! Run by Rachel Aggs
Time: 12:30–14:30
Location: DIY Space for London, 96-108 Ormside Street, SE15 1TF London
This will be a workshop for re-thinking the guitar as a macho power-tool /phalic symbol and improving your confidence with writing riffs / songs and performing live! We will offer examples of our favourite self taught guitarists and some inspiring LGBTQ, women and POC guitar heroes!!
The focus will be on having great ideas and making cool sounds not on technique or right/wrong ways of playing – cus guess what? There is no wrong way! Even if you have never touched a guitar before, please come down and try it out! Let’s make a mess!

-About the venue-
DIY Space for London is an accessible venue. It is on a single floor level, with access ramps, widened doors, an accessible toilet and plenty of space for maneuvering and getting away from crowds. There is plenty of seating available and the toilets are gender neutral and accessible.
